Sydney Contemporary Art Fair Reveals Public Program Preview

Sydney Contemporary has released an expanded list of exhibitors for the inaugural edition of the fair, with additions to the list including Whitestone Gallery, Tokyo; Tristian Koenig, Melbourne; Tim Klingender Fine Art, Sydney; Art Plural Gallery, Singapore; Murray White Room, Melbourne; Martin Browne Contemporary, Sydney; and Ivan Anthony Gallery, Auckland.

Two curatorial partnerships have also been announced which will see Sydney-based not-for-profit visual arts organisations 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and Artspace each present a curated exhibition. 4A Director Aaron Seto has been appointed the curator of the inaugural Installation Contemporary while Artspace Curator Mark Feary will curate the first edition of Video Contemporary.

A number of guest speakers have also been added to the program including John Kaldor AM of Kaldor Public Art Projects, renowned architect Nick Tobias, Art Fair Director Barry Keldoulis, chef Kylie Kwong, arts writer Andrew Frost, and a number of artists including Island 6 from Hong Kong and 2013 Archibald Prize winner Del Kathryn Barton.

“Our public program will complement the gallery presentations with guided tours, educational workshops, guest speakers, panel discussions, and an extensive VIP program,” said Sydney Contemporary Fair Director Barry Keldoulis.

Sydney Contemporary is a new biennial contemporary art fair being presented at the Redfern based multi-disciplinary arts institution Carriageworks from September 20 to 22, 2013.
