Princess Eugenie has just landed her first job at the online auction housePaddle8, the Daily Mail reported. The Queen’s youngest granddaughter will relocate to New York in the autumn to take up her post.
“From October she is going to work and live in New York, before returning to London where the company is setting up a new office,” a source close to the royal family told the broadsheet.
The 23-year-old princess has a degree in Art History and English literature from Newcastle University. She has work experience from Christie’s (where her cousin Viscount Linley is chairman) as well as at the Royal Collection in Buckingham Palace.
“Since leaving university Eugenie has been committed to working in the arts world and has done some internships but is now set to take on a permanent role at graduate level,” said the Daily Mail's source. “She is determined to be a working woman with a full-time job.”
Paddle8 was co-founded by a family friend, old Etonian Alexander Gilkes. Last year, Eugenie and her sister Beatrice attended his three-day long wedding in Venice to the fashion designer Misha Nonoon.
The young firm is on a roll and has just announced a $6 million cash injection from a consortium of investors including Damien Hirst, White Cube’s Jay Jopling, and Prince Alexander von Fürstenberg.
